Accomplishments & Goal Updates

1. Implement endeavors to increase HOA paying membership

We gained 8 new members in 2022.

One of the endeavors we focused on was the Neighborhood Watch Program. We worked with Mike Tjosvold and Heidi Scholz to finance the project and aid in the communications of the project. Mike was able to install 1 camera at the West Entrance of the neighborhood (by Value Village) and plans to install another at the East Entrance (off Issaquah-Fall City Road) as soon as he is able.

The Board communicated with the city to have the sign at the East Entrance removed upon multiple neighbor complaints.

We hosted a Community Conversation on Zoom to ask questions about hooking up to City Sewer with city officials capable of answering such questions.

2. Support and promote the Neighborhood Watch Program

See update above

3. Review our covenants as they are outdated

We are in the process of having these looked over by a lawyer (pro bono) in order to better serve our neighborhood by having bylaws that protect the character and nature of our neighborhood as laws surrounding housing growth are made in our area. A vote from all HOA members may be required to update our bylaws.

4. Continue discovering ways to lower expenses through competitive contracts, streamlined processes and lower taxation

We ended our mowing service with Plantscapes due to a lack of consistent service and communication. The Board is currently looking for a new landscaping company to mow and maintain the park as we go into Spring. Please share a commercial contact if you have one.

5. Reconvene in hosting social events

In 2022, we hosted an Easter Egg Hunt in April, National Night Out Event in August, the Back to School Picnic in September and the Trick or Treat event in October. All events were well attended and a joy to put together so we could all connect socially.

2023 Goals

  1. Continue to Support the Neighborhood Watch Program and other endeavors in an effort to increase HOA paying membership
  2. Update our covenants
  3. Hire a new landscaping company to maintain the park
  4. Continue hosting social events
